New Module: HR-Expert

General​

Webdesk HR-Expert is an application for HR staff to manage employees and the internal organizational elements. It is a standalone application that builds on Webdesk EWP. To use Webdesk HR-Expert, Webdesk EWP must therefore be installed, and every HR-Expert user must also be created as a Webdesk user.
Webdesk HR-Expert uses the same database as Webdesk EWP and, in addition, additional tables to store the information to be managed.

What Functions Does Webdesk HR Expert Offer in This Version?​

  • Person master data with contract history and position plan, position and organization history
  • Management and assignment of skills
  • Management of dependents
  • Management of personal bank accounts and salaries
  • Management of information about disabilities
  • Assignment of responsibilities
  • Institutional training of the employee (classic training)
  • Position plan and organization chart
  • Comprehensive reports
  • Full-text search for person, position, planned position, location, organizational unit and cost center

Permission Options​

Permission to use Webdesk HR-Expert can be controlled by assigning a dedicated role in the Webdesk Administrator. By assigning role competences, restricted client control is also possible. Beyond that, no customizing of screens, menu items or reports in HR-Expert is currently possible.

Using HR-Expert Reports in Webdesk EWP​

The reports available in HR-Expert can also be used as Webdesk menu items for manager self-service and thus made available to a broader group of users.

Integrating HR-Expert into Webdesk EWP​

It makes sense to provide the link to HR-Expert via a separate menu tree entry in Webdesk EWP. All that is needed for this is an action configuration of the action po_openExternalWebPage that points to the URL 'hr-expert'. In addition, the "redirect" flag should be activated.

Joint Administration of Persons and Groups​

Every person created in HR-Expert is automatically also visible in the Webdesk EWP Administrator. Conversely, every person created via the Webdesk EWP Administrator also automatically creates an employee in HR-Expert (possibly with incomplete information).
In principle, the core information of a person can be administered via both entry points, but important HR-relevant administrative properties such as employment contract, position assignment, private addresses, etc. can only be administered via HR-Expert.
