System Requirements

Minimum System Requirements​

In the case of a combined installation of Webdesk and the database server on one system, the following minimum requirements apply to the system resources:

  • Current CPU (at least 4 cores)
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 40 GB of free hard disk space

Software Requirements​

  • Java 17 (e.g., Eclipse Temurin)
  • Servlet container Apache Tomcat 9

When operated as a Docker image, Java and Tomcat are already included in the image.

Supported Operating Systems​

  • Linux (64-bit) - the Webdesk Docker image is based on AlmaLinux 9; other current Linux distributions with Java 17 are also possible
  • Windows Server 2016
  • Windows Server 2019
  • Windows Server 2022

Operating Webdesk​

Webdesk EWP can be operated in the following ways:

  • Classic installation on a Linux or Windows server with Tomcat
  • Docker: Operation as a Docker image (Tomcat 9 with Java 17)
  • Kubernetes: Operation of the Docker images in a Kubernetes cluster

Database Server​

Microsoft SQL Server is supported in versions 2016, 2017, 2019, and 2022, and the Express Edition is also supported.

Other possible DB servers:

  • MySQL / MariaDB
  • Oracle

DB2 is no longer supported.
